Dear Alan,
Lorna & Girls,
Here I am sitting on the veranda of
the Hayes cottage at Southbroom, where we have been for the past 10 days. The
weather has been heavenly & I feel so relaxed & well. We breakfast on
the veranda at about 9 a.m. & then dress & do any small chores we might
have to do then off to the beach until lunch time & of course milkshakes on
the beach – we have lunch on the veranda about 3 p.m. then we amble off
shopping somewhere & usually more milkshakes then home after 5 for tea 7
drinks – dinner about 8 p. m. & bed about 10 p.m. It is so peaceful here
& warm the garden services have just been in & the garden is looking
lovely – there are hundreds of different birds & the monkeys come just
about every day. The dishwasher in the background is music in my ears as also
the tumble dryer – we also have a maid here who comes daily – but alas all good
things must come to an and so on Friday we will meander our way to Neal’s for
the weekend then home on Monday – I have so much work to do in the garden in
preparation for my spring planting. I must also do lots of sewing for Xmas
presents.
Dad has been busy helping Uncle
Brian & they have retiled & painted the black hole bathroom – at this
moment they have gone to town & I am here with Kevin, Magda & boys.
We went to the casino last week
& Aunty Maureen gave us each R20 to play the machines & mine lasted 3
hours & I was down to my last 10 coins (20 cents) & I put 5 into my
machine & I got out 500 coins, it was very exciting as the lights started
flashing & music played & out came all the coins – Dad & Maureen
collected them & took them to the cashier to be changed into notes now I
have R100 notes to spend.
Well no more news so I’ll sign off
& write again when I get home next week.
Tons of love to each & everyone,
Dad, Mum & family
