Dear Alan, Lorna & Girls,

It was so lovely to hear you on the phone, I was sorry  I missed the children, but Jonathon was so sick & Debbie asked me to take him to the doctor & I kept trying to hurry her up, but she is just like Daddy dead slow.

It is quite on the home front we had Neal, Vanessa & 3 boys plus friends of Neal’s with 2 children – so most days I was feeding 21 we used a kilo of maize in 3 days. They were here for a week but have now all gone so peace reigneth. Actually the kids were very good as Neal’s kids bought a small motor bike & the kids rode all day. We also had a fantastic day at Safari world & they all went to the museum at Midmar.

Elliot & Besselina are back living on the property as there was so much trouble in the townships that they ran away & left everything as the scavengers were burning down all the houses, anyway they have since gone back & got all their belongings & we are turning the cowshed into a very nice house for them with 2 rooms.

The Besters went out to dinner last night to Midmar Dam Restaurant for Debbie’s birthday, Debbie left her handbag & it was returned to the office today & all the money in it was gone about R900 so she had a miserable birthday.

We went to Hlabeni Forest Caravan Park for Easter, it was lovely, but we were a bit disappointed as it was very far to go to the river to fish one needed a 4 wheel drive to get to the river.

The weather has been fantastic one beautiful day after another, but from yesterday one can feel winter around the corner & the Cape had its first snowfall.

We are going to be home for a couple of weeks then off to Kamberg for a family weekend then we will have to stay put until Debbie has the baby.

I think I’m stating with a cold as I haven’t felt 100% today & my nose is blocked.

Must close. Tons of love to you all,

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Dad, Mum & family
