Dear Lorna, Allan & family,

Hope you all had a super Christmas & New Year. We did. We just stayed at home because the beach was so crowded & expensive & not much accommodation available. We did go out to a New Year’s party though, and had a super time. Pam came with us.

Anyway school started two days ago so things are getting back to normal a bit. Jonathon has not been very happy about starting again. He has really been upset. But he will soon get back into it again. Fay starts school in April and is just longing to go. She started swimming lessons yesterday, & she is so brave that it won’t take her long to learn. Jonathon has been swimming since September, and he is doing so well too. He does a whole length of Ma’s pool. By the way thanks very much for the children’s books; they are beautiful. The children were ecstatic with them.

The weather has suddenly warmed up a bit; and we are all meeting Neil & Vanessa at a new game park in Pmb on the weekend. It is really super. It has tubes & rapids & all sorts of entertainment for the kids – phoofie slides & parks. We are going to braai & spend the day there on Saturday so that is going to be super. We do not see very much of them or Sheila. We very seldom go down & they never come up here. Ma goes down frequently. It is hard to believe we only live an hour away; but you know what it is like to have your own business. Lionel seldom has spare time & when he does like to take the children on an outing. We go to the Karkloof falls or somewhere different from them.

Jonathon is quite the keen fisherman, so he is very easy to please. One just needs a fishing rod & a pond of water to make him happy. He is actually so happy because he goes to the dam behind Ma’s house & day before yesterday he caught a few fish. Well I tell you; this is great for him. That is all he can talk about.

Anyway I do not seem to have much news. But write soon. Sorry I took so long to write.

Keep well,

Lots of love,

Debbie, Lionel, Jonathon & Fay.
