Just a
short note to tell you what we have done.
I went
in to see the travel agent we have been dealing with on the first day after
school finished.
There
were two vacancies for South Africa on Sunday 22nd April (this is
Easter Sunday). We couldn’t get on SAA but Qantas had vacancies to Harare then
a connection to Johannesburg. We also had to book the return seats but these
can be altered. The return seats are in four weeks’ time 20th May.
We
haven’t booked for anything in South Africa yet because we thought you would
know what was best to see and where to stay but there are three things we would
like to do if possible. See the Victoria falls, see an animal reserve and go in the train one way
from Capetown up @ down the table mountain to Johannesburg or across to East
Africa. If you can book these things from where you are could you please do it
now and we will send the money over or pay when we get there. If you cannot do
these from where you are would you please let us know and we will do what we
can here. There are so many animal reserves and hey differ at different times
of the year you should know which one or ones are better in April May.
In all
the pamphlets the tourist bureaus give out the black people and the homelands
are just ignored. Is this because they do not want us to see them or they are
not worth seeing. I know you said that at Christmas time you would be very
busy. Just find out what you can do when you have time. Please remember we don’t
want to be rushing around all the time sometimes we would like to stay in one
place to get the feel of the place. We won’t do anything more over here until
we hear from you. We have to finalise and pay our fees at least 1 month before
the due date.
