Dear Melissa,
Thank you for your letter sorry I have taken so long to
reply, but we have been away a lot lately.
First of all we went to Bergville then on to Ladysmith to
help Jenny move – she moved from a rented flat into one she had bought. We came
home after New Year & Debbie wanted us to go with her to the Transkei to
Coffee Bay – but we declined – then we went with them to their caravan near The
Royal National Park & spent 5 heavenly days with them.
Matthew was so funny Grandpa was playing with him in the
pool & I called to Grandpa & said “Barn please come here.” so Matthew
says to Grandpa “Don’t listen to her Barn.” After Hlanati we came home for a
day then to Ballito (right on the beach) with the Besters & spent another 3
heavenly days all day on the beach (I’m just about ready to give up this letter
as this is about the 3rd pen I’m trying to use the other 2 gave up
the ghost). After Ballito we went to Aunty Sheila & family & spent 10
lovely days there – we had visitors, visitors & more visitors. Two friends
used to come at 7am & take us to the beach & we would walk from Ansteys
to Brighton along the beach – then I would swim in the pool & then go home.
We only came home today & we have had over 100mm rain in
the 10 days we’ve been gone – nearly all the dams are over 100% full & we
have had floods.
We are hoping and praying that you will be in the Olympics.
Hope you enjoy varsity & work hard. No more space so I’ll sign off. Grandpa
sends lots & lots of love, hugs &kisses.
Tons
of love from XXXXXXX
Papa,
Nana & family XXXXX
